For my third photo assignment I did macro. This was my first time experimenting with the macro setting on the camera. So, for this shoot I went outside looking for flowers to take pictures of and I found many different ones. During this shoot I learned how to shoot with the macro settings on my camera along with learning what macro does to an image. ISO: 1600
Shutter Speed: 1/400sec Aperture: f/4.0 For this picture I brought up the exposure a little and brought down the contrast, highlights, and shadows to bring out the flower more.

In this project we explored more of photoshop and different tools. Some of the tools include the stamp tool, text tool, quick selection, and brush tool. We did this by editing a picture of a car to make the car stand out more. Before After
Originally I was going to shoot shadows, but I wasn't sure exactly. However, my dog had just come in from a walk and he was calmer than normal so I I thought it was the perfect opportunity. So, as my dog was laying on the coach I decided to take as many pictures as I could while he was in one place. In this shoot I learned that animals can be hard to shoot you just have to get a picture at the right time. Also, during this shoot I wanted to make sure it was just my dog and nothing in the background was distracting. ISO: 1600
Aperture: f/5.6 Shutter speed: 1/13sec In this picture I did not want to make huge changes to it, but I did want to bring out my dog a little more. So, I brought down the blacks a little bit and brought down the contrast. In this assignment we learned how to use photoshop by creating popart. We took a picture of ourselves then took them in to photoshop to make the into popart. We learned new things about how to apply photoshop through this assignment. In this assignment I learned how to use filters, guides, resize the canvas, how to move a layer, and use threshold dialogue. Overall, I learned a lot about photoshop and everything that it offers.
For my first photo assignment I shot landscape. I walked around to different places in my neighborhood to get different shots. At first it was harder to get a lot of pictures, but towards the end it got easier since I experimented with different angles. In this assignment I learned that you need to try out many different techniques to take the pictures so you don't get so many of the same photos. IOS: 200
Aperture: f4.0 Shutter Speed: 1/800 sec when editing this photo I didn't want to change it too much so I brought the temperature and exposure up a little bit and slightly brought down highlights, contrast, and whites. For my first photo assignment I have decided to chose the subject landscape. I have chosen this because I have always loved nature pictures, and believe that some of my best pictures are of landscape. Not only are they some of my favorite kinds of pictures, but I think they are fun to take because there are so many unique and beautiful natural places to take pictures of. These are some my photo inspirations that I found online: These pictures inspired me because they all have many different colors, textures, and different elements in the photo. These pictures show something about nature and the landscapes around us. All of these photos are unique and are great examples.
The Assignment: In this assignment we took different pictures representing all the elements of composition. Including, the rule of thirds, texture, patterns, lines, symmetry, framing, perspective, space, balance, depth of field, and colors. What I Learned:
In the assignment, besides learning about the different compositions, I learned how to use a camera, how to edit pictures, and be more creative. I've learned the most about compositions and the editing process of a picture. Before this assignment I didn't even know that there were different compositions in photography. Another thing that I have learned a lot about is editing pictures, because I have never edited pictures like this before and I didn't know that there was so many different things that you could change about a photo. Overall, in this assignment I have learned many things about photography in general. Hello, my name is Jillian and this is my digital photography blog I'm a freshman this year. In my family there is my mom, my dad, my older brother, my dog Buddy, and myself. I took this digital photography class to learn more about photography because I have never taken a photography class before. I do not have much experience besides taking pictures of my mom's camera once in a while. Evan though I have never taken a class I always thought it would be fun and interesting to try.
